Attention College Students! Lower Delhi Pollution Level with Niti Aayog’s Five-Point Remedy

Few health experts insisted on wearing surgical masks, however, few suggested that masks cannot be an alternative because to fight pollution in Delhi, one need masks with minimum N95 or N99 level of filtration, and which is not available. Hence, it's up to no good!

When asked Mr. KK Aggarwal, National President Elect, Indian Medical Association, and President, Heart Care Foundation of India about the harmful effects of air pollution, this is what he said:

"Allergic reactions, such as itches are common too. But the most dangerous thing is that these auto-drivers, if exposed to such polluted air for 9-10 hours day, can also fall prey to heart attack, strokes and other forms of cancer in the body,"

Naming waste burning, dust from construction and roads, coal-based power plants, diesel-run vehicles, stubble burning, cooking fires, which burns biomass, and brick kilns as 'major sources of pollution', Aayog warned that Delhi alone is not to be held responsible. According to Government of India policy think-tank, the government has to come to the forefront, take 'corrective action', and strictly impose numerous bans and traffic laws nationwide.

As for now, Aayog is pretty confident that the air pollution level in Delhi will reduce within the next three years, as planned, if all the corrective actions are taken properly. Higher taxes on petrol and diesel and increased parking lot fees would compel people to leave behind their personal vehicles and travel in public transports, thus decreasing the levels of pollution.
